Case Study Site J

The site has around 1000 beds and 6000 staff serving a population of over 1 million and will be implementing an integrated ePrescribing and Medicines Administration system within the next few months. The initial roll-out will be limited to a pilot area of the hospital in order to identify and address any issues. It is expected that the system will be subsequently phased into the rest of the hospital over the course of a four to five month period. The deployment of the ePMA system is part of the site’s overall ICT strategy to move towards an integrated EPR system, and was initiated when the hospital sought to upgrade its Patient Administration System.
